YSpace, York University’s entrepreneurship hub, wrapped up its highly anticipated Technology Accelerator Demo Day 2025 at the Gardiner Museum in Toronto, spotlighting the next generation of Canadian startups and awarding $30,000 in cash prizes to standout ventures. The event was moderated by Nafis Ahmed, Associate Director at YSpace, guiding the evening’s presentations and discussions.

After four months of refining their go-to-market strategies, expanding customer bases, and accelerating growth, the cohort took the stage to pitch to a packed room of investors, mentors, and innovation leaders. The evening brought together a vibrant community eager to celebrate the future of tech and entrepreneurship.

The Winners of YSpace Demo Day 2025

1st Place: Numr
Numbr helps businesses stop revenue leaks before their customers even notice, ensuring every transaction is captured and every opportunity is maximized.

2nd Place: Tinybox Systems
Tinybox Systems is redefining off-grid living. Their fully self-sufficient tiny houses can be set up anywhere in 48 hours, generating their own water and electricity with no land preparation or infrastructure required.

3rd Place: Swiirl
Swiirl enables brands to engage audiences through locally produced story-driven content that resonates and reaches millions via trusted networks.

People’s Choice Award: Kare
Chosen by the audience, Kare won over the crowd with its impactful pitch and vision for improving healthcare accessibility.

The 2025 Tech Accelerator Cohort also included innovative startups Abloomify, Aiskyra, Baune, Bidblox, Colab, and Corol, each contributing unique ideas and solutions across various sectors.

The event was not just about competition but a celebration of ambition and collaboration. Guests were welcomed with networking opportunities, followed by live pitch presentations, and ended the evening with bites, drinks, and conversations about startups in Canada.
