Alitheon Secures $8 Million Series A1 to Scale AI-Based FeaturePrint Identity Technology

Alitheon’s Bellevue-Based Machine Vision Team Pioneered Optical AI for No-Touch Serialization, Fraud Prevention, and Traceability: With over 55 issued patents, FeaturePrint is the Biometric for Things.

Alitheon has raised $8 million in a Series A1 funding round led by Emerald Technology Ventures, with participation from eBay Ventures and continued support from existing investors. The company says the capital will accelerate global deployment of its optical AI identity system FeaturePrint, a patented technology with more than 55 issued patents.

Alitheon operates in the emerging category of physical-to-digital identity, using computer vision to identify individual objects based on inherent surface details rather than external labels. Its system, FeaturePrint, is designed to generate a unique digital signature for each item using standard camera imaging, enabling what the company describes as one-to-one serialization without adding any physical markers.

The company argues this approach addresses long-standing weaknesses in traditional tracking systems such as barcodes, stickers, and RFID tags, which can be removed, damaged, or counterfeited. By removing dependency on added identifiers, the system instead relies on natural micro-patterns present on an object’s surface to establish identity and authenticity.

Alitheon frames the technology as a “biometrics for things” model, where each physical object can be verified through its own visual fingerprint. The company also positions this as a zero-trust framework for physical goods, meaning items are not assumed authentic until verified at the point of scan.

“Securing support from such powerhouses proves the world is ready for digital-first serialization, provenance, and traceability,” said Roei Ganzarski, CEO of Alitheon. “We aren’t just identifying goods; we are powering the trust layer of the global economy, providing a level of security that additives and standard AI simply cannot match.”

Investors highlighted the potential impact on global supply chains and manufacturing systems.

“At Emerald, we look for technologies that solve fundamental industrial challenges at scale,” said Gina Domanig, Managing Partner at Emerald Technology Ventures. “Alitheon’s ability to provide 1-to-1 serialization without the need for labels or tags is a game-changer for global supply chains. By establishing a ‘Zero Trust’ framework for physical goods, Alitheon is providing the essential data integrity required for the future of automated manufacturing and logistics.”

Alitheon Product

From industrial gears to healthcare products to luxury goods, Alitheon’s FeaturePrint® provides an unbreakable link between physical objects and digital traceability. Its Optical AI identifies the unique “fingerprint” of any item, no tags, labels, or stickers required. It ensures absolute authenticity and end-to-end provenance across the global supply chain with a simple scan.

From the perspective of commerce platforms, the technology is positioned as a tool for improving authenticity and trust in transactions across the lifecycle of goods.

“Trust is the cornerstone of the global marketplace, especially as the circular economy continues to accelerate,” added Henri Lamesch, Global Head of eBay Ventures. “Alitheon’s ‘biometrics for things’ represents a massive leap forward in how we verify authenticity. Their patented approach ensures that every participant in the lifecycle of a product can have absolute confidence in its provenance, safeguarding the integrity of commerce for everyone.”

With the new funding, Alitheon plans to expand deployment of FeaturePrint across manufacturing, logistics, and commerce applications, positioning itself as a core infrastructure layer for digital verification of physical goods.
