Tech Startup Litespace is Shaping the Future of Hybrid Work

As the pandemic has caused many disruptions to the workplaces, most organizations have seen themselves transitioning into a hybrid/remote work model. This transition aims to improve employees’ work-life balance, but also introduces complexities around team collaboration and the logistics of in-person time.

Litespace is a tech startup that personalizes the hybrid work schedule for teams while also considering work safely amidst COVID. It is founded by Jack Lau and Muhammad Jaffar. We had the chance to chat with the cofounders to find out how they are tackling the transition to a hybrid/remote work model and building the ultimate platform for companies to manage their workplace seamlessly.

Can you tell us more about Litespace?

Litespace is a SaaS startup that provides modern workplace management tools for remote and hybrid companies. It helps employees manage their daily work schedules. No more logging your data in spreadsheets and wasting time figuring out who’s coming to the office on a given day. It helps companies smoothly transition to the post-COVID work environment by easing all potential communication conflicts.

What are the challenges for companies working on hybrid work model?

Since COVID, many firms ranging from small scale to enterprises such as Shopify, Airbnb, Google, etc., have switched to a hybrid/remote work model; however, the new challenge these companies are now facing is for teams to collaborate or even plan a simple social event. Their current workplace processes are not built for the hybrid model. Oftentimes, employees and HR members find themselves spending a lot of time going back to align their office schedules and organize meetups. We want to empower teams to achieve the right balance between working from home and working from office while also promoting collaboration.

What are some exciting features about the platform?

Teams can use the Litespace app to select their statuses for each day and inform one another if they are working from home, the office, or a remote hub. Litespace also allows teams to schedule in-person meetups by using its recommender system to choose the most suitable dates and times. Scheduling also lets the invitees indicate the days that work best for them and eliminates the need to follow multiple messaging threads on the communication tools.

Integrations with calendars and communication tools, such as Slack and Microsoft Teams, allow users to always stay notified and reduce friction when it comes to collaborating with each other. Litespace also provides extensive reporting for administration purposes to help the organizations strategize and optimize their hybrid workplaces better.

Hybrid Work Software

What’s next thing you are working on?

Our team is currently working on an AI-driven recommendation system to help teams optimize their schedules better by recommending days to go to the office. The recommender takes into account the teams’ statuses, organization structure and grouping, frequency of office days and pattern-matching on historical data.

We’re also partnering with co-working hubs to help manage their operations better and help individual companies manage their locations more efficiently. This will be done by enabling management of multiple locations and extending space management functions including room and desk booking.

Lastly, we have helped existing clients save up to 15% of their administrative costs by using the platform, and it will continue to help its clients to further optimize their operations.
