Calgary tech is scaling with the rise of some of the fastest-growing companies. The city is experiencing exponential growth in startups. Some notable companies from the city include ZayZoon and Clinify. ZayZoon is building a payday platform where payday finally comes with the push of a button. Offered as a benefit through employers, employees can use ZayZoon to get paid whenever they want. Clinify, founded by Michael Omide, is Africa’s only interoperable centralized healthcare systems aggregator for healthcare insurance companies and healthcare providers, as well as a processor of out-of-pocket patient payments. The company recently raised $2 million to further fuel expansion.
Long Calgary is a community initiative to bring the local community together to connect with opportunities. They recently launch House 831, a community effort by Tate Hackert, Scott Bakken, and Jonathan Zoeteman. House 831 is meant to be a highly-vetted clubhouse for ambitious founders, creators, and builders in the city. The goal is to create a place where innovation and collaboration are born.
“We believe great things happen when we bring the best of Calgary’s tech and creative communities together under one roof. In doing so, we’re building a network and collaborative ecosystem found nowhere else. We want a space for curiosity and creativity to go unchecked.” – Tate Hackert
